IFA is Europe’s biggest tech show and one of the most inspiring trade shows for product launches in consumer electronics and home appliances. This year we joined forces with the team from Future Candy, an innovation agency from Hamburg, to showcase the newest developments in the mobility sector. Typically the show is open to the public, however due to strict regulations regarding COVID-19 the attendees were reduced to industry only and limited to only 4,000 attendees in total. Even though Corona is still in full swing that didn’t stop eager tech enthusiasts from dawning their masks and heading to Messe Berlin to check out the new gadgets.
This year at IFA was a monumental moment for OKAI as it was the world debut of our new EB100 electric bicycle for sharing operations,ES500 for the consumer market, and also a charging cabinet compatible with both scooter and e-bike batteries.
The ES500, OKAI’svery first e-scooter for private customers weighs around 17 kilograms and should be able to achieve a range of up to 30 kilometers with its 280 watt-hour battery integrated in the footplate. The electric motor built into the front wheel with an output of 350 watts can do up to 28 kilometers per hour (km/h). For the German market and other countries with corresponding legal guidelines, it is cordoned off at 20 and 25 km / h, respectively.
